There are two formats movies arrive at the movie theater – regular film and digital movies. Average weight of one film movie is 20 kg; it consitsts of several spools depending on the length of the movie.

Nurdaulet has been working as a projectionist for over 14 years.

It takes him about 30 minutes to unite the parts of the movie together.

He does it on a special table using a press and sticky tape. First of all, he has to stick movie trailers to the movie. He should very careful because the trailers may appear upside down.

When they stop showing the movie in movie theaters, it has to be disassembled and sent back to the distributor.

Buying tickets to a movie, people mistakingly think that their money goes to the movie theater. In fact, the movie theater gets just half of the sum, the rest goes to the distributer. Along with that, the movie theater makes money on selling popcorn and drinks.

People cannot imagine going to a movie theater without buying some popcorn. By the way, out of a sack of corn with a weight of 22 kg, they make 33.7 kg of popcorn.

That’s how they turn corn into popcorn.

    A scale for ingredients.

    They weigh corn…

    Adding some non-stick powder…

    Some sugar…

And flavors (this time it is blackberry).

Then, they put it into a popcorn machine.

5 minutes later, they are ready to sell popcorn!

Here, they sell three types of popcorn – caramel, salt and blackberry. So far, people like caramel best.

Chaplin Mango features a lounge bar with free WiFi where they serve alcoholic drinks.

    “Exit”.

First multiplex appeared in the 50s when in the USA they issued a law according to which large movie theaters were to be equipped with seats and access for special needs people.

Tuesday is a children’s day in Chaplin. On this day, they sell tickets to kids with a good discount.

Sometimes people forget to return their 3D glasses after watching a 3D movie. During a couple of weeks, 10 3D glasses have been stolen.

Sabina is a Cinema Hotel Corporation Director. She said that many people believed that opening a movie theater in this part of the city was reckless because people were used to downloading movies from the Internet for free. Yet, Chaplin is the only place for people to go out and have fun here so it is popular.

Sabina said that they’d been thinking about a good name for their movie theater and were about to name it Kinostan when suddenly one of the employees said, “Maybe, it’s Chaplin?” and they all loved it.

Building the movie theater, they closely collaborated with European architects and brought materials from Europe because they love their clients and wish them the best.

Nurlan is a designer who worked out Chaplin’s interior. He says that they did their best to make each person visiting the movie theater feel comfortable and happy.

These chairs and clocks have been brought from the USA.

    There is film inside.

The Chaplin team understood that good service is what also attracts people into the movie theater so they hired a start up manager from Moscow.

Chaplin Cinemas is a young chain of movie theaters. It’s ambitious and hardworking, so it is meant to be successful.

I liked “Kinostan” better. Thanks for the recipe for popcorn. (Native Americans should pay special attention). And let’s hope they have an Eisenstein Film Festival once a year.
